Creating Excellence Through People

October 29 2009 - (0) Comments - posted in inspirational speakers Today we have had the pleasure of announcing our new service - Creating Excellence Through People.

We recently consulted a number of speakers and buyers in the speaker market with a view to developing a new service, and the feedback we received has changed our thinking and direction: lesson one...use your contacts to test and refine your ideas rather than sit in an ivory tower.

We recognise that the marketplace in terms of business environments is in a state of real flux with corporate teams being disbanded, and plans for new teams with different skill sets being developed. This means that new team…

Sarah Storey Blog

October 23 2009 - (0) Comments - posted in inspirational speakers Wednesday 21st October saw me win myself an early birthday present as I regained my National title in the able-bodied women's 3000m Individual Pursuit. With my 32nd birthday coming up next week, I was delighted to overturn 18-year-old Hannah Mayho in the final, which was held as the last event of a busy schedule on Day Two of the National Track Championships.

Going into the event, I had hoped to have opposition from the 3 girls who are current team pursuit world champions, but for one reason and another they didn't sign on and it was left for several younger riders and I to battle it out over the 2 rounds of the competition.

Another FFB member: NWES (Norfolk & Waveney Enterprise Services) took part in this prestigious sporting challenge, selecting a team of their finest, highly trained athletes to carry the NWES flag into battle. Team members consisted of: Kevin Horne, Andrew Wilson, Richard Salmon, Mick Potter and Richard Voisey. (Pictured)

Fit For Purpose

October 06 2009 - (0) Comments - posted in creating excellence

It was fascinating to see the stunning success of the Rio bid in the race to host the 2016 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

There is an excellent article from ‘Inside the Games’ which outlines how the need for preparation, research, alignment and understanding of the client (IOC’s) aspirations were properly undertaken, and ensured that the Rio bid was ‘fit for purpose’.

The London 2012 Games is becoming ever closer and beyond the obligations to build a set of facilities, and to…

Life After Athletics

October 05 2009 - (0) Comments - posted in inspirational speakers

Having been an international athlete for 11 years, I had plenty of time to consider life after athletics and that joyous thought of not having to get up for training.
To be truthful the reality is somewhat different to the happy thoughts of not training.  At first it was great, same as every post-season break, attempt to eat my body weight in chocolate and drink a years worth of alcohol.  The difference this time is there is no starting training again.  After such a long career that is the strange part.  I do have the remedy though, a new pair of rugby boots.  So look out Maldon RFC.
As for my future, I am still very busy working as a [Continue Reading]
