“Get FIT4LIFE with Fit for Business”
August 10 2009The Government’s National Campaign ‘Change4Life’ is urging us to get our kids to ‘Eat Well, Move More’ and ultimately ‘Live Longer’.
But it isn’t just our kids that need to be ensuring they are having a balanced, healthy way of life; we as adults, parents, siblings, grandparents and even as children ourselves – should be living the values too. What better way is there for our children to learn, other than by example?
Maintaining a healthy way of life comes down to, as I see it, a simple formula:
Healthy, Varied & Balanced diet
+
Engaging in regular Physical Activity
+
Work/Life Balance
=
Healthy
It can be argued there are lots of other elements to maintaining a healthy body, weight and wellbeing, but following these simple steps should get each of us on our way to or maintaining a supreme body machine!
One click on an internet search engine for ‘Maintaining a Healthy Balanced Diet’ will bring to your attention approximately 1,830,000 sources of information in just 0.36 seconds! Quite astounding!
With so much advice though on what consists as ‘healthy’ and with thousands of different sources claiming to be ‘the answer’ – where do we begin our quest for health, and what exactly are the reputable resources?
This is exactly the issue that the Government wanted to address by creating ‘Change4Life’. On the Change4Life website you will find a whole host of useful and most importantly reputable materials and partners, all echoing the same message and helping you to take your first step to Change4Life.
Fit for Business is working with organisations across the country to embed this message in the Nation’s workforce, ‘we can spend up to 60% of our waking hours in the workplace’ (BHF Well@Work project) so what better place to start to instigate these small changes and get the nations workforce ‘FIT4LIFE’
