Chelmsford Showcase for Business 2009

November 19 2009 Yesterday Martin and I attended Chelmsford Showcase for Business at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford.

The event was to showcase some of the local businesses in the area and allow business owners to network with like minded people and share thoughts and ideas on business.

Martin Corck, MD of Creating Excellence presented at the evnt on Wednesday, sharing his story of what Creating Excellence have done to stay 'Fit For Business' during the recession.

The presentation went done really well with audience members particularly interested in some key principles that we practice at Creating Excellence such as;

1) How we have made change that is right for the future not just the recession and…“Do in the good times what you have to do in the bad times”

2) How we have reset team roles and cross cutting team activity

3) How we have created a team that share and trust in each other and developed common purpose, vision and understanding

4) How we cut out the ‘neg ferrets’ (see Adrian Webster's Polar Bear Pirates)

5) How we have created an improved and enjoyable environment – we have a team not staff!

The Showcase included many presenters who covered all aspects of business and there was many exhibitors to share and gain knowledge with from local and national businesses.
