Have You LinkedIn

September 02 2009

At Creating Excellence we understand the importance of using new technologies in our business, one such form of this is LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is one of the new breed of social networks, although unlike Facebook and Myspace which are all about building your social calendar, LinkedIn is purely business focused.

It’s not about collecting and gathering “friends”, it’s about building relationships with new & existing business contacts and utilising those contacts to build a stronger network to grow your brand reputation. Effectively it’s based on the theory of “six degrees of separation”.

SO HOW DO WE DO IT?

We have a LinkedIn company page and profiles of our staff, so if you’re already dealing with one of our team invite us to connect to your network.

Bear in mind the phrase above “it’s not about collecting friends”, when it comes to inviting someone to join your network you have to ask yourself whether you would take a call from this person on a busy Monday morning. So only ask and affiliate yourself with those you know and trust.

BOOST YOUR PROFILE

1. Answer business-related questions
What’s your field of expertise?  For exampla, Creating Excellence’s Inspirational Speakers brand is focused on sports and motivational speakers and we actively answer related questions that other businesses have about this area, it helps build our brand and grow our reputation as leaders in our field on the LinkedIn community. It’s about give as well as take, help someone else out and they’ll remember you.

2. Make recommendations and introductions
If you’ve had a good experience from working with one of your clients, give them a referral on LinkedIn, they’ll be grateful, it will boost their reputation and ask for one back from them too. You can never have too many good things said about your company and everyone on your LinkedIn network will also see this referral.

3. Provide company information
You can put a company profile on your Linked In account, get all your staff listed on the profile, it shows the size of your company and the skillset that each member of the team brings to the organisation and by keeping it up to date shows the growth and freshness of your business.

So get LinkedIn with us today.
