Power to the Pedallers
September 30 2009Well Done to the Creating Excellence team members Michele, Katie, honourary member James and myself who took part in the Prince’s Trust, Palace to Palace cycle ride on Sunday 27th September.
It was an early and chilly start on The Mall Sunday morning, with our cycle ride kicking off at 8.30am.
I had been a little apprehensive about the 45 mile cycle ride, particularly once Katie had pointed out that the direct route between the start and finish (Buckingham Palace to Winsor Castle) was 21.6 miles… I felt a bit like I’d been taken for a mug!
Once we got started though I knew it was going to be alright. The route was beautifully scenic taking us firstly though London, along the Thames, over Putney Bridge and out to the breath-takingly beautiful Richmond Park where we were delighted to see a herd of deer. We then carried on taking in two more royal parks;Bushy Park and Windsor Great Park before arriving at the end village in Widsor to collect our well deserved medals.
The day was gorgeously sunny and everyone on the ride was full of high spirits.
What a great way to raise money for such a worthy cause whilst having a fun and fit time!
