Paralympic Cyclist and Creating Excellence Inspirational Speaker Sarah Storey won Gold last Friday at the BT Paralympics World Cup.
Storey gained the medal in the 3km pursuit held at the Manchester Velodrome.
Sarah won her gold in 3 mins 46.03 seconds, 10 seconds off her world record of 3 mins 36.637 seconds that she set in Beijing last year. Sarah said of her win at the weekend, ‘‘It’s always good to win. I can’t say I am pleased with the time. I just need to work a little bit harder in training.”
Sarah originally competed at world-class level as a swimmer, she officially changed her sport to cycling in 2005 and since then has won many medals at championship and olympic levels.
Sarah is married to cyclist and tandem pilot Barney Storey, himself a 2 time gold medallist from the Beijing Paralympics. The couple live and train in Manchester.
