Sarah Storey retains 3km pursuit title at British Nationals
Sarah Storey retained her title at British Nationals in Manchester on Wednesday night.
Paralympic champion Sarah Storey defended her individual pursuit title at the national championships in Manchester which is open to able-bodied athletes in a time of three minutes 40.244 seconds and beat she beat Hannah Mayho in final.
Sarah, who was born with a congenital absence of the left hand, appeared at four Paralympic Games as a swimmer under her maiden name Bailey.
Sarah made the switch to cycling before the Beijing Games and returned with 2 golds medals in the individual pursuit and road time trial.
Sarah was delighted and said “ I am so pleased to have defended my title, it is such a great feeling. and I was very pleased with my tactics , and the race as a whole. I feel amazing”
Sarah is now looking forward to the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships taking place from 6 - 8 November
