Challenge Duo Complete ‘Ride of Britain’

Adventuring duo James Cracknell and Ben Fogle have completed another challenge together; The Ride of Britain rickshaw challenge. The rickshaw ride was just another amongst a number of challenges that the TV presenter and the double Olympic Gold Rower have completed together; the duo have paired up on various televised outdoor adventures - most recently, a trek to the South Pole which was documented earlier this year on BBC Two series On Thin Ice.

The latest challenge saw the pair set out from Edinburgh Castle on their rickshaw at 8am on Saturday (3rd October) and reached London yesterday (Monday, 05 October) afternoon - in time to attend the Pride of Britain awards ceremony at 8pm. During the 450 mile ride they ate and slept in the confines of the rickshaw, pedalling day and night and taking it in turns to rest in the back.

The aim of the challenge was to raise awareness and funds to support SSAFA Forces Helps vital work assisting wounded troops and their families.
